My third eye takes me somewhere like this when I meditate. I wonder where it is that we are going... can't wait to find out. It is especially helpful when I am dealing with someone that has been misinformed about the #MTHFR mutations myself and my daughter have. There is this high level of misunderstanding of the mutations, the different ways that folic/folinic/folate/methylfolate is used by the body, and what other nutrients and functions of the body are a part of the puzzle. If you give my daughter JP all day long, and myself for that matter, we have no problems at all. If I add any methylated folate to my daughter's diet she starts having heart palpitation, nausea, headaches, muscle pains, etc. For those that don't know if you have one SNP on either A1298C or C677T, your ability to turn folic acid into folate could be decreased by about 30%. If you have two SNPs on either 1298 or C677T, or one of each, then you may be up to 70% less able to use folic acid. That doesn't mean you can't use any folic acid. You just need to ditch the enriched foods (and there are a lot of enriched foods for those that are eating gluten, boxed foods, orange juice and animal products) because they are overfilled with folic acid. Natural sources of folate include leafy greens, asparagus, bananas, melons, lemons, legumes, yeast, and mushrooms. Are people with MTHFR telling their kids to stop eating bananas? chili? mushrooms? leafy greens?? Dr. Lynch actually says that if you are having methylation problems you should stop eating leafy greens. Really?? I am sad to say that before trying JP it was because I believed the net, and that it would harm us. Then I went to an event and saw someone I was sure probably has the same mutation as I did... and went , uh... that didn't hurt her, it helped her. I asked Mitra, and she addressed my concerns. So grateful for my family because it has been amazing for us all!! Numerous drugs are also known to inhibit the body’s ability to utilize folate. Are people with MTHFR taking aspirin?(uh... many are being told to take it, yes) more below
